C2 - lenticulars and irregulars

lenticulars

• they have a nucleus and a disk but no spiral arms
• the nuclei can be spherical (S0) or barred (SB0)

irregulars

• they are not in the Hubble scheme
• common in low mass/low luminosity end
• may result from mergers/interactions between galaxies
