Einstein (1905) published On The Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies, which laid the groundwork for special relativity, resolved LTs with mechanics, and gave a new understanding of time
Minkowski (1907) theorised 'spacetime', describing events as 4-dimensional positions in spacetime with coordinates $(c t, x, y, z)$
